Why do people think we need a government

Why do people think we need a government, religion or money to be good people and have peace I’m sure we as a species have evolved enough to be able to just be a good person and treat each other like people without the need for these things no matter what they have done whether its murder, rape or whatever at the end of the day they are still people and need our help the idea that we need a government, money or religion is only still about because we are told that is what is needed to function in life.
