I am glad to have the opportunity to share my story!

Good morning, Mark! I am glad to have the opportunity to share my story. I have been affiliated with Neo-Tech for almost two years or more, and I have seen so many dramatic changes in my life for the good. Talents and gifts are being discovered that I didn’t know I had. As a person who reads and writes a lot and takes a tablet everywhere I go, I would like to share the changes in my life.

1. I started writing poetry at age nine, but in 2011 I really began to realize the world is hurting, so there were a lot of poems I had written that I removed from my binder and formed into a poetry book. I began pricing how much it would cost to go through traditional publishing and put that project aside because it was too expensive. One day, lying in bed, I kept hearing the word “ebook.” So I got up and did my research on what an ebook is.

To make a long story short, it led me to publishing my own inspirational poetry book, saving myself thousands of dollars. I also chose my mother as my proofreader and editor, given her marketing and business skills and her love of English. She has also been my marketer, and together we’ve gotten the book into local drugstores and a well-known grocery store to promote it.

2. I have also been interested in music. I felt that since I write poems, I could write lyrics, and that idea led me to songwriting. Now I have over 100 lyrics copyrighted across Gospel, Blues, R&B, Country, and Dance. After writing the lyrics, I started searching for beats to put with them, and I discovered beats are expensive. So I began to search for how to compose beats myself, which led me to purchasing software. Now I have over 100 beats copyrighted across various genres.

People listen to samples of my music and don’t believe I’m the one composing beats, as a woman with absolutely no music background; many ask if I was ever involved in music in school or college, and I couldn’t even tell them what a half or whole note looks like. I have received numerous compliments, and people are waiting on CDs to be released because they say my music is different and they can’t wait to hear it on the radio and see me on BET.

Currently, I am teaching myself how to mix and master the music to make it radio-ready. I hear music but didn’t realize all the work and patience music professionals go through. My mom has asked local music professionals to listen and evaluate it, and I’ve received no harsh evaluations at all. I am so amazed, because I am really a beginner, but they see me as someone who has been doing this for a long time.

Everybody asks my mom how I can do all of that and work two jobs. “It’s called mini-day, Mark.” They don’t understand that I work two jobs to fund my projects, and all of this is being done alongside completing projects because of the mini-day.
