My step-dad passed away earlier in the month and I have been in Alaska trying to get my Mom organized with all the related changes that will be occurring in her life now that he is gone. I have a lot of catching up to do, but I will be reading profusely over the next month. I personally consider myself a self leader as has been required of me by my late job over the past 25 years (I retired last April). As far as being happy, I am my own man for the first time in my life and could not be happier.
