Mark, thank you for your support and I’m looking forward to getting my next Heirloom package (550 plus pages). What follows below is my attemot at an ‘integrated’ business idea for a steak house restaurant where I bartend. The restaurant has been in business 52 years, since 1960 to present, 50 years, at the same location. To my amazement the owners of the business that I work for had never contacted the local businesses within a 5 mile radius of their extablishment. My idea was to offer the local businesses, and there are hundreds, a special coupon attached to a flyer/offer whereby if 4 people come in for dinner the fourth glass of beer or the fourth glass of wine would be on the house. I even suggested to the owners that to make it really special let the fourth steak ordered be at a discount to the regular price or even better let the fourth steak be on the house. That didn’t fly but I had them thinking about the drink specials at least. I should point out that the business I work for hardly ever runs ads to promote their business believing instead on the power of the word of mouth to bring in new business. My idea was to help write the special offer and I offered to deliver the flyer on my dime with a coupon attched to as many businesses as I could reach and I would also help calling tha businesses that I had contacted in person to invite them in for dinner and to answer any questions that they might have concerning the coupon offer. I should also add that I work as a bartender primarily but I have served, cashiered, hosted and helped manage. In this proposal if accepted and acted upon I would be combining offer/copy writhg, operations (bartender and/or serve), meeting with the potential new customers, and phone calling. I had support from the employees I worked with, unfortunately, it wasn’t our call to make and my offer was rejected not once but twice. Disappointing to be sure but now that I’m a member of the Neothink Society I’m sure better days are ahead. I am excited about the year ahead in the Neothink Society and look forward to everthing I have to learn. Thanks again, Mark, for your time and I hope I get to meet you in person. Tom
