The parasitical elite look down on the common man. This has historically always been the case. The common man is seen as fodder to feed the machine. In the film the Matrix Morpheus shocks Neo by pointing out that he and and everyone else are batteries, that can be plugged in and used up. This is a metaphor that relates a fact…. the common man can be used up in any way the parasites in charge so choose…. this is moral on their terms, because it keeps the anticivilization running. There is no mass conspiracy here… it is an implicit agreement between everyone rather than an explicit decision, it largely follows mans bicameral nature. It’s not just the leaders but the followers, everyone in this anticivilization plays the game. This is why the anticivilization cannot be reformed, everyone is ensnared within it’s net or matrix. The key to collapsing the anticivilization is consciousness raising, one individual at a time through the spread of the Prime Law meme… Until a critical mass is reached that will uncouple the psychological chains, holding individuals within the last remnants of a bicameral mentality. When enough people decide that they are no longer going to play the game, the anticivilization will collapse. It will collapse as individuals become self leaders and begin to take full responsibility for their own lives and no longer look to a ‘higher authority’ for answers.
